Fire Escape Wings

Here's another fire escape mechanism that boggles the mind. Did the inventor ever actually try to use these wings? The picture is unusually artistic, but being able to draw someone flying out of a burning building and actually flying out of a fire yourself are two completely different abilities. Icarus easily comes to mind in a rather sick way when reading this patent. Using these wings guarantees you a fate just like Icarus: falling to your death. The only difference is that you won't be melting; you'll be on fire.
